That will be the end station for today. As always too early at Schiphol, but I like to be, especially when you have to walk a lot. Not this time, D6, the gate for the busses. Flight is OK but bit bumpy. The luggage arrived, way to go KLM ....
Hertz is also nice, great new Ford Focus, extremely Blue though. Driving on the left side is normal after 5 minutes, sometimes I miss the right hand stick though.
I have to go almost through Glasgow, it is rather busy, also outside in the countryside, many roadworks. In Norway there are many speed traps and cameras, here even more, so I will try not to get a ticket.
Nearing Alloa it is less busy and finding the hotel is rather easy. I am early but room is ready. Nothing special, leaking water in the sink, flushing the toilet needs a serious skill. But hey so many people have less, I am still priviliged. Actually it is just a bit old in disgusting colors, purple and yellow, very British and now I know also very Scottish.
The town itself also nothing special. Only thing that is very obvious is that the Scotts are extremely overweight. And not a few pounds but many stones. I think is has to with the food but also with drinking as that seems to be second nature.
I am leaving Alloa for a short trip to Stirling and especially Stirling Castle. Great scenic place where Queen Mary Queen of Scotts would have lived.
The evening I watched the terrible game of their neighbours, the English did rather bad, most Scotts were not upset :) to say the least. Ending the day with half a pint of darker beer, rather rasty.
