Overwhelming beauty

After the very "private and personal" breakfast I got many directions from Hazel of where to go. First down to Portree to see if tonight there will be some local live music. Portree is a rather nice town in a small bay and built on a hill.
First stop was the Old Man of Storr.

The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west.

The Storr is prime example of the Trotternish landslip, the longest such feature in Great Britain.

The area in front of the cliffs of the Storr is known as the Sanctuary. This has a number of weirdly shaped rock pinnacles, the remnants of ancient landslips. One of the most famous of these is known as the Old Man of Storr.

It is 719 meters high and the climb is rather tough, especially the last part. But when there you can make beautiful pictures. This was really the first time I was not "alone", many people did the climb.
I did not have any problems with mosquitos or midgets until yesterday, at Skye they're all over, so walking through the woods is not very pleasant, they got me big time, so back to the water :-).

A bit later a waterfall again, but due to scarceness of water, not a lot of action.
Up north next stop is Kilt Rock, named after the Kilts, with horizontal and vertical lines and more or less in the shape of the Kilt patterns.
Again several Km's later the perfect view from Quiraing. This time you can go by car, almost all 15+ percent, rather steep.

Again a great view, even a photoshoot was ongoing, the Scottish way.
Last for this afternoon, I have enough impressions for another week, the ruins of Flodigarry castle.
