What a Day, almost perfect ....

I'll come back to that statement later .....

Leaving was not a punishment, I know it will better.

I decided to go to the Trossachs first, they say it is the Highlands in a Nutshell. The route was tricky as there was a cyclist tour, so every 100 meters I had to overtake.

In Aberfoyle I took the Forest Route, I was the only one, great tour through the forest and close to some Loghs. Halfway I walked for almost an hour, again no one there ... auch there is a Mountaunbiker ... do not spoil it now :).
I am trying to avoid as much main road as possible and that got me in big problems.

Driving through Killin (great spot with a nice rapid fall in the river)
got me on an even narrower road.

After some miles a rather fast car from the other side took the corner a bit wide. I reacted with stearing to the left, well a bit too much so I hit some sharp stones ... resulting in a flat tyre. Hm a homecomer, meaning 80 Km as max and I still had to drive another 120 miles ... No highway for me, so I took the B ways to the end, but what a ride it was. Checking the wheel several times, but the scenery was breathtaking and sometimes desolate, but that was also the best part, it was like being at the end of Planet Earth.
Arriving in Tomintoul my home for the next two days gave me a very good feeling. The Glen Avon Hotel, just a two star, but rather lively (only 250 people live here but there all in the bar ...) without the typical bar inhabitants, made me feel at home in a minute, the dark local beer and the simple but rather good food made my day. Actually having a garage will make my day tomorrow as I need to replace the tyre.

I am in the Glenlivit and Glenfiddich region so I need to at least try it (the Whiskey that is) although I am not a fan of strong liquor, seldom drink it. But a friend of mine asked me to bring some, so my duty awaits :).

Inverness and Loch Ness are also close by and if I spot it, you will be the first to know :).

People seem to be fitter here .... It must be the local distillery .....

Now for the desert, Brasil-Ivory Coast!

Joined by four older Germans who come here for almost 30 years to fish for Trout, nice people from Bonn.

Ok enough for today.
